«history» Jessamine is the firstborn child of Daniel Jones and Andrea Jones née Connors. She was brought up in a magical village just outside Cambridge. Her younger brother was born a little under 2 years later, and Jess never really got along with him. She was curious about him as a child. Leading to a rather embarrassing situation where she fell on him having tried to climb into his playpen. Jess always felt that Stefan was her parents favourite, because he never caused them much trouble, but Jess was always getting into trouble for the smallest things. When Jess was five she exhibited her first sign of magic, she sat fire to one of her brothers toys, because she was jealous. Being from an half-blood family, she was sent to a primary school near her village, due to her magical status, she was told that she wasn't to tell the other kids of her gifts, because she'd be thrown into jail.
When she was 11 years old, she received her letter to Hogwarts, and was exstatic. She had a chance to shine away from her brother, even if it was only for 2 years. She was happy to be accepted into the hufflepuff, even if she had wanted to be accepted into ravenclaw or gryffindor, but hufflepuff was just as good as the other houses. She made many friends in her first and second years, including her future fiancée William Nolan, he was a gryffindor in his second year, and a very handsome second year at that. Jess had a crush on him from the moment she saw him but didn't act on it till years later.
In her 3rd year, her little brother was accepted into Hogwarts and sorted into gryffindor, again he was the shining sibling, he was brave, smart, sporty, everything Jess wasn't. Jess was a bright student, but not smart, she was brave to a point, but not like Stefan, and she just was not sporty. She would often complain to William, Amelia and Elijah about it, her three friends. By the end of her third year, she had plucked up enough courage to ask her friend William out on a date. But William beat her too it, and asked her out. Jess was happy with WIlliam, and felt happy that she had someone who understood her. She always missed her friend Amelia's jealous looks.
They dated all the way through Hogwarts, and at the beginning of her sixth year and his seventh, he proposed and she said yes. Although it wasn't the first time they'd slept together, it was the first time they'd been careless. When Jess's witchly time of the month was late, she panicked and instead of telling people and confiding in her friends - and fiancée - like she should have, she took it upon herself to deal with it. She aborted the baby, in favor of her studies, she regrets it now. By the end of her seventh year they were just about ready to get married, they'd even started planning, when she caught William and Amelia having an affair behind her back. Jess was devastated, and refused to see William when he tried to explain. She eventually had to move away from her birthtown. So when she was offered the job as an assistant professor at Hogwarts she accepted right away, and moved herself up to Edinburgh.
Recently, she received an invitation to the wedding on William Henry Nolan and Amelia Jane Conrad, which she promptly tore up, and threw it in the bin. Elijah - a friend she had seemingly forgotten when she moved away, then came up to visit her, getting the address of her new place from her brother, and tells her that he will be there for her. He eventually moved up north to continue his friendship with Jess, plus he never really liked Amelia anyway, and since William cheated on Jess, he's had no respect for him.
