«history» Syracuse Bobotuber Spore is the son of the acclaimed author of One Thousand Magical Herbs and Fungi. Following in his father's footsteps, Syracuse travels across the world searching for new species of exotic plants with adventurous enthusiasm. When he came across the successful apothecary in the bustling Diagon Alley, he fell in love with the owner's daughter, Elizabeth. After a one year courtship and a five month engagement, the two were finally wed and settled down in Surrey where Elizabeth runs her own apothecary with the ingredients that Syracuse grows.
They had two children, and Syracuse insisted on keeping the (rather embarrassing) Spore family tradition of giving children herb/fungi-related middle names. And that's how Arya got tagged with a name like Gillyweed, while her brother got Wolfsbane which isn't so bad and even sounds kind of cool.
Growing up, Arya had accidentally ingested almost every kind of plant imaginable, because they're everywhere in her house. She experienced many magical side effects, but has managed to grow up rather normal - although her toenails have a habit of changing color depending on the weather. She also has a habit of triple checking the ingredients anytime she cooks anything.
Getting into Ravenclaw was a little bit of a surprise. While she was smart (and could be a bit of a smartass), bookwormy, and clever, she never liked studying. She has a very individualistic way of approaching education, that includes sometimes spending all night awake in bed reading and a lot of fist random experiments. Curiosity trumps practicality more often than not in that respect.
