[li] "SILLY" There's just about nothing Piper loves more than to laugh, and she figures other people must be the same way, so she always looks for the lighter side of things. She sometimes lacks common sense and doesn't recognize things that should be plain to her, but she generally makes jokes about those situations. And about everything else, really.
[/li][li] "SASSY" Most of the time, she tells things exactly how they are. Not because no one else would (she knows there are enough people at Hogwarts who would do that), but because she keeps quiet about enough other things.
[/li][li] "DREAMER" She's been taught that it's wrong to be who she is, so she spends a lot of time dreaming about what life would be like if she was out. She also has a tendency to daydream about all the future implications of something as basic as what shoes she decides to wear. She definitely has a tendency to be awkward because she spends so much time in her own head that she forgets to attend to conversations at times.
[/li][li] "INSIGHTFUL" While she doesn't often recognize things that should be obvious, she does seem to be pretty good at picking up on the things that aren't being said. Once she's spent a bit of time with a person, she can usually tell you quite a lot about them that they haven't actually shared with her.
[/li][li] "GULLIBLE" She isn't a liar (except in regards to her sexuality) and she has a tendency to believe that other people are like her in that respect. Consequently, she believes most of what she is told until she is faced with evidence that she's been lied to.

«history» Being the oldest child is really quite a burden. To begin with, Piper was exposed to all of her parents' mistakes in their first attempt at child-rearing. Granted, she was only alone for a year, but that first year leaves lots of room for mistakes. For example, selecting a middle name that first belonged to a demented character in Shakespeare play who actually drowned herself. All in all, though, she wasn't too damaged. Piper grew up with the understanding that she was to set an example for her younger brother, and she's always done the best she was capable of. Her parents were mostly pleased with her until the summer after her fifth year.
Piper's parents had always found it odd that she didn't date. They encouraged her to, insisting that boys wouldn't have to interfere with her schoolwork, which was the guise she'd initially come up with. But she still hadn't dated, and she was nearly sixteen. Piper had figured out a few years before that the reason she hadn't dated was because she simply wasn't interested in boys, and she was quite tired of being pestered about it. So she decided to come clean with her parents. Her admission was greeted with laughter and the assumption that she was joking. Piper had always joked about a lot of things, but she figured this was too serious of a matter to be joking about. Even so, they refused to accept that she was telling the truth, and so began a long line of blind dates set up by her loving parents.
Since that summer, Piper has spent as little time at home as possible, preferring to stay at school for holidays whenever she can. She's also started actually making jokes about her sexuality in an effort to keep it from driving her insane.
